Identifying and remedying faults
Javier Puga Manasé ensures that the machine tools built at DECKEL MAHO Pfronten GmbH work without any faults. The 32-year-old primarily tests the software of machines with a lot of customer-specific adaptations. He already gets involved during the development phase in order to put each control system through its paces: “The customized machines pose a fresh challenge every time, because the features always vary due to the many different options,” says the Spaniard describing the complexity of his tasks.
He requires a high degree of concentration for his work. Moreover teamwork is required: If Puga discovers a software error, for example, he will resolve it in cooperation with a software developer. Alongside the regular, project-related tasks, he also looks after acute software problems on machines already operating at the customers’ premises. “These cases have priority to ensure it is possible to start work again as quickly as possible.”
