DMG MORI becomes CO2-neutral in 2020
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing society worldwide. Especially industry is required to take appropriate measures.
We at DMG MORI are also aware of our responsibility and are taking the next steps to protect the climate. In particular with regard to fossil fuels such as coal, crude oil and natural gas, we consistently reduce the energy consumption of our machines and our production.
With a clear goal: We are CO2-neutral by 2020.
From next year, we will get all our electricity from renewable sources. This comes 100% from hydropower plants, wind farms and solar systems. In addition, state-of-the-art and efficient production facilities are purchased at all of our locations in order to reduce our CO2- emissions. This will enable us to save 1,000,000 kWh by 2021 and increase our energy efficiency by 5% by 2023. We offset remaining and (as yet) unavoidable CO2 emissions with certificates for sustainable, recognized and audited projects, such as the construction of a hydropower plant in Africa.
