Education for the Future - DECKEL MAHO Seebach GmbH hands over the new training area to the trainees

On 06.06.2023, the apprentices, students and trainees moved into the new, multifunctional training area of DECKEL MAHO Seebach GmbH. With an increase in the total training area by 300 m² to around 1,000 m², ample creative space was created for learning all industrial job profiles and all future-oriented topics such as digitalization, automation and also additive manufacturing.

From the Big Picture to structural realization: What began in 2020 with a workshop on graphic recording in the midst of the Corona pandemic now came to a conclusion. True to the motto "by trainees for trainees", our trainees designed the six core areas in different WORKSHOPS together with the responsible architectural office. Thus, in addition to the classic training content, you will now also find an expanded area for CNC training including WH and PH automation, as well as cobot solution and 3D printing. Further future technologies, such as digitization by means of TULIP or mixed reality applications are available to the trainees in the so-called Experience Center / FAB-LAB as well as partners for events of any kind. A modern Center Cube with multifunctional project room design offers sufficient space for training and use of all kinds and also serves the TAKT Academy at the Seebach site as a new base for creative project work as part of optimizations to our value chain.

"The new training program is intended to be a beacon in the company that will not only radiate internally, but also far out into the region. From the very beginning, it was our goal to create the most attractive working conditions in order to primarily strengthen our industrial training and to promote the attractiveness of industrial jobs at DMG MORI in the best possible way, thus actively counteracting the shortage of skilled workers. Furthermore, we want to create a place for our employees where future technologies, such as 3D printing or CoBot solutions, can be experienced live and invite them to try them out," the project team agrees.

As part of Open House Seebach from 06.11.2023 to 10.11.2023, in addition to the completion of all maintenance measures and integration of the AGV-based flow assembly in the area of hall aisle 2, the Grand Opening of the training "Education for the Future" will also take place. With creative workshops and presentations of all apprenticeship professions on November 6, 2023, as well as KEY NOTES from first-class partners and institutions on November 10, 2023, the apprentices will also play a major role in the success of the week.

Many thanks to all the contributors who put in their commitment and effort to make this project a reality.
